This part of Columbia Road has been trading since 1939, when Jack Garcia opened his general store on what was already one of East London's most storied streets. The Garcia family still live nearby — a quiet reminder that some things outlast the pace of the city.
"Some things outlast the pace of the city."
The shop changed hands over the years, as shops do. But the building held its character. For the past two decades it's been a coffee shop, drawing in market-goers, locals, and anyone who needs a moment away from the Sunday crowds.
We keep things simple. Good coffee, properly made. Pastries baked with care. Nothing here is accidental — every cup and every canelé is chosen because we believe it belongs.
Open Saturday and Sunday, 08:00–15:00

★★★★★"If you love canelé, you absolutely cannot miss this little coffee shop. The canelé looked adorable and had a great texture — especially the Dulce de Leche one. I will definitely return to try other flavours!"
★★★★★"My quick stop while exploring the flower market was a delightful surprise. The coffee was simply amazing and the olive stick became my favourite treat. A memorable stop — I'll definitely recommend this place!"
★★★★★"What a spontaneous find — this bakery is EXCEPTIONAL. The sausage roll is honestly one of the best I've ever had. Mouth-watering buttery pastry, oozing with fresh pork and sage. Highly recommended!"
